Greetings from Our Pastor, Fr. David
I was born to Desire and Josephine Nyanzi on March 2, 1977. My parents were blessed with 10 children, and I happen to be the first born. I went to school in Uganda, where I was born, and I was ordained to the sacred priesthood on August 12, 2006.
In 2008 I came to the US, and I went to Boston College for a graduate degree in Mental Health and Counseling Psychology. While doing my studies at Boston College, I also served the Archdiocese of Boston as a chaplain to a large Ugandan Catholic Community living in Boston. After graduating, I served Lahey Hospital for two years and then I served as a parochial vicar at St. Mary, Waltham for three years.
In 2016, I was welcomed to Richmond Diocese by the late Bishop DiLorenzo who appointed me Administrator for St. Joseph, Woodlawn; All Saints, Floyd; and The Church of Risen Lord, Stuart. I served these parishes for three years In 2019, Bishop Knestout transferred me to Sts. Peter and Paul, Palmyra and St. Joseph, Columbia as Pastor.
Some of my interests are observing nature and listening to birds sing in the wilderness. I also love listening to country music and I love to dance.
I look forward to working with you as I serve you as your Pastor and I thank you for allowing me to lead you on this journey leading us home to heaven.
May God bless y’all abundantly!
