Our Pastor Fr. Joseph Wamala

Rev. Fr. Joseph Wamala was born in Uganda popularly known as the Pearl of Africa. Uganda is located in the Eastern part of Africa along the Equator. After several years of training, he was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood on 08/07/2004 together with his brother Fr. Fred by His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala in the Archdiocese of Kampala, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and Mary – Lubaga.

After ordination, he worked as parochial vicar in a parish of the Archdiocese for a year. Next, he was appointed to teach in Kisubi Minor Seminary which belongs to the Archdiocese of Kampala. He was later appointed Vice Rector of the same seminary. Next, he was appointed parochial vicar of the Central Virginia cluster of parishes in Farmville, VA. In 2011, he was appointed pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish in Staunton and from July 2021, he was appointed pastor of Christ the King Catholic Parish in Norfolk up to date.
